When Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis first debuted, it felt like it was just a matter of time before NieR: Automata’s 2B made an appearance. That day is finally coming when the YoRHa No.2 Type B Intercept – Encounter in the City Ruins Crossover launches on November 27, 2025. Personally, I’m shocked it took this long for 2B to come to Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, considering they’re both Square Enix properties and Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is essentially built on the same foundation as NieR Re[in]carnation, which shut down in April 2024.

The crossover event not only adds a 2B boss fight to the game, but also the Savoir Ensemble / Fatum Ex Machina outfit and weapon for Yuffie and the Battler Ensemble / Demon’s Impetus outfit and weapon for Tifa. All those who have been dreaming of Tifa in 2B’s outfit, well, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis has delivered the fan service. The campaign includes panel missions that, once cleared, grant the enemy ability Whirling Ravager. It also includes up to 340 draws with a free daily 10-draw, an event login bonus of 3,000 blue crystals, and one free crossover draw for the weapons.

While I was interested in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis when it first launched, the game quickly lost my attention since it was essentially a reskin of NieR Re[in]carnation’s gameplay. Some of the story elements have been interesting since I am a huge Final Fantasy VII fan, but I found it easier to just watch the new content on YouTube. It’s unfortunate, too, because Ever Crisis really had the potential to be a nice way to live the Final Fantasy VII story. Instead, it just mostly became a chore for me.
