Earlier this morning, during Unreal Fest Orlando 2025, the team at CD Projekt Red showed up with an Unreal Engine 5 tech demo showcasing The Witcher 4. To be clear, this is not footage of The Witcher 4 gameplay, but it is a small glimpse into what we can expect from the upcoming RPG. The tech demo was built in partnership with Epic Games to demonstrate what is possible with Unreal Engine 5, and, according to the team, it was running on PlayStation 5 at 60 FPS with ray tracing. Some of the technical highlights include Chaos Cloth and Nanite Foliage.

The tech demo follows the surprise first trailer that debuted at The Game Awards 2024. Again, this is not actual gameplay from The Witcher 4, but at least now we know Ciri’s getting a horse of her own named Kelpie. The tech demo is impressive, both visually and from a performance standpoint, but don’t get too excited yet. Chances are, we still have a few years of waiting before The Witcher 4 releases, and we likely won’t see actual gameplay for another year or two.
