The first gameplay from The Talos Principle 3 premiered at today’s Triple-i Initiative showcase, offering an early look at some of the worlds in the final game of Croteam’s philosophical puzzle trilogy. Published by Devolver Digital, The Talos Principle 3 launches next year on PC and PlayStation 5, with no XBOX Series X|S or Switch 2 version announced so far. Devolver says players will travel to dozens of new worlds, each with its own stories, puzzles, and characters.
The game takes place in the Anomaly, a world of crumbling temples and abandoned science outposts that’s also the only place in the universe where the laws of physics don’t work as they should. Players wake up there with fragmented memories and solve increasingly complex puzzles while reliving their life as an explorer, along with the history of the world that humanity built. Croteam is also promising new puzzle systems and a story that spans generations, closing out a trilogy that started with The Talos Principle in 2014 and continued with The Talos Principle 2 in 2023.
When the game was announced in May, we said we’d have to wait to see what its new puzzle mechanics actually look like, and the new gameplay offers the first glimpse at a few of them. For those who haven’t played the series, the original game got a remaster and expansion called The Talos Principle: Reawakened in 2025, while The Talos Principle 2 also joined the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog last November.
