As expected, Tales of Xillia Remastered has been announced for an October 31, 2025 launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. Originally released in 2011 in Japan before heading to other markets in 2013, the game tells the story of Milla Maxwell and Jude Mathis in Rieze Maxia, where humans and spirits coexist in harmony. The two embark on a quest when they discover that the kingdom of Rashugal is using a mana-draining weapon, endangering the world’s balance.
Like other Tales remasters, Tales of Xillia Remastered brings graphical upgrades and numerous quality-of-life improvements for modern platforms. Changes include making the Grade Shop available from the start of the first playthrough, adding auto-save, an option to toggle off enemy encounters, a battle-retry feature, subtitles in battle scenes, a dash toggle, destination markers, skippable cutscenes, and more. You can see the full list of enhancements here.
Interestingly, there was no mention of the sequel, Tales of Xillia 2. It’s probably safe to assume that if Tales of Xillia Remastered succeeds, it won’t be much of a mystery what the next Tales remaster will be.
