Seemingly out of nowhere, Kojima Productions has acquired the IP rights to Death Stranding, making the game available on Xbox Series X|S. Previously, the Death Stranding IP belonged to Sony Interactive Entertainment, which helped fund the game for PlayStation 4. Death Stranding marked Hideo Kojima’s first project after leaving Konami and establishing his own studio. Xbox owners can now experience Death Stranding Director’s Cut ahead of the sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, set to release sometime next year on PlayStation 5. It’s unclear whether the sequel will launch first on PlayStation 5 before coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC or release as a multi-platform title on day one.

505 Games is publishing Death Stranding Director’s Cut on Xbox Series X|S. The game features several Hollywood actors, including Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Margaret Qualley, and Léa Seydoux. True to Hideo Kojima’s style, the game offers a unique experience, with a main gameplay loop centered on delivering packages. The sequel looks even crazier.
