The announcement of Borderlands 2 heading to the PlayStation Vita is exactly what the handheld console needed to help boost sales. Now, Sony PlayStation has formally introduced a new, Third Party Production team that will be dedicated to bringing new IPs to the Sony PlayStation ecosystem.
Along with new IPs, the team will also work on getting ports and localized products to Sony PlayStation consoles. The new devision will be headed by Gio Corsi, former lead producer at LucasArts. According to Sony Vice President of Third Parties, Adam Boyes, the company realized that it needed “an entire division in order to make Borderlands 2 on Vita happen.”
Hopefully the new Third Party Relations team will start knocking on Square Enix’s doorstep to bring Final Fantasy Type-0 to America.
