Finally, SEGA is bringing back Crazy Taxi with Crazy Taxi: World Tour, a new installment of the classic arcade driving series revealed at the XBOX Games Showcase and set to launch in 2027. The reveal trailer is set to The Offspring’s “All I Want,” the song featured in the original Crazy Taxi, and follows Axel on a high-speed run before a mysterious driver sends him off on an international adventure. The series was first teased back in 2023 as part of SEGA’s push to revive its classic franchises, the same effort that brought back the Shinobi series.
At the center is a new story-driven World Tour campaign that has Axel chasing down a group of international car thieves who stole his taxi. The hunt plays out across five unique cities around the world, each with its own terrain, missions, and quirky characters to encounter along the way. Between the main story, the game promises a range of side missions and odd jobs to take on across its dynamic maps.
The core driving stays true to the series, with outrageous drifts, big air, and high speeds as players deliver passengers and chase down crazy money across the five cities. Players can unlock a range of vehicles and customization options to build their own ride, while the classic Crazy Taxi formula returns in a revamped Arcade Mode that pits players against the clock to earn as much cash as possible. SEGA is also adding online multiplayer with cross-platform support, letting players compete across several modes.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour launches in 2027 on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam and XBOX on PC. On XBOX, it is an XBOX Play Anywhere title, letting players access it across console and PC.
