Developer Jagex has officially announced RuneScape: Dragonwilds, an upcoming open-world survival crafting game launching into Early Access in Spring 2025. It’s set in the RuneScape franchise and takes place on the forgotten continent of Ashenfall. Built in Unreal Engine 5, RuneScape: Dragonwilds features everything you’d expect from an open-world survival game: gathering, building, and crafting with co-op support. There’s an ultimate goal of slaying the Dragon Queen, which can be undertaken solo or with up to three friends.

The power of Anima will be at the center of trying to reshape the open-world survival experience. For example, players will be able to summon spectral axes to drop trees in an instant or channel nature’s energy to repair broken armor. The game will feature a unique progression system, allowing players to unlock new spells, crafting recipes, and abilities.

The game started Alpha testing in late 2024, and soon players will be able to embark on the adventure themselves. You can wishlist RuneScape: Dragonwilds on Steam here.
