It’s not due until March 13, 2026, but Capcom has launched preorders for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. Heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection tells the story of an escalating conflict between the kingdoms of Azuria and Vermeil. Those who preorder the game will receive special Layered Armor for Eleanor, the Skyscale Queen, a cosmetic outfit that becomes unavailable when the Change Companion Outfits option unlocks in-game.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection offers a Deluxe Edition for $89.99 and a Premium Deluxe Edition for $99.99. The Deluxe Edition includes the full game ($69.99 value) and the Deluxe Kit, which adds an additional side story called Rudy’s Tale, scheduled for release in fall 2026. It also features the Special Outfit Set with layered armor for companions, additional Rudy outfits, and hair options for the player character. The Premium Deluxe Edition adds to the Deluxe Edition a special cosmetic DLC pack that includes additional companion layered armor, hair options, and Rudy outfits. The cosmetic DLC pack included with the Premium Deluxe Edition will also be available for purchase separately.
Capcom also released a trailer that shares more details about the game’s story. The player’s protagonist seeks to understand the Crystal Encroachment, which threatens the extinction of habitats worldwide. The journey will feature numerous companions, such as Ranger vice-captain Gaul and his palico Murray; Ogden, the walking Monsterpedia; and Kora, who founded the Rangers alongside the protagonist’s mother.
While I’ve always been interested in the Monster Hunter Stories franchise, I’ve never managed to find the time to squeeze one in. I am, however, planning to check out Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection when it launches next year. While I did get some of my Monster Hunter fix with Monster Hunter Wilds earlier this year, the game’s issues on PC caused me to jump on a new game much sooner than anticipated.
