In our review, I called Pokémon Pokopia the best Pokémon game I’ve ever played, one I could easily pour another 60 hours into if there weren’t so many games to play. Soon, though, there’s more to fill that time, with a free update and a three-part Expansion Pass both arriving this August. The free update adds a new move called Dive, letting you explore the ocean floor to plant grass, build structures, and create underwater towns alongside Pokémon.
The paid Expansion Pass splits its content across three parts, beginning with Part 1, Bubbly Basin, which also arrives this August. It opens up a new underwater town stocked with extra furniture, new outfits for Ditto, and more Pokémon to meet. To reach it, you’ll need to learn Dive from the free update and clear the request “Raise the environment level!” in Bleak Beach. The Expansion Pass is now available on the Nintendo eShop.
Parts 2 and 3 are further out, with the bulk of their details still to come. Part 2 will add new features but no new town, while Part 3 brings another town along with more that has yet to be detailed.
