A Pilotwings-themed stage has been confirmed for the upcoming Super Smash Bros., at least for the Wii U version. The post, which was revealed on Miiverse, shows off the level asking if fans can recognize the island. Of course the long runways are a dead giveaway to which franchise it will be related to, and perhaps it hints at yet another hero that will be joining the game. The post was made by Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai today.
Other stages that have already been announced for the next Super Smash Bros. include the classic Battlefield, Smashville based on Animal Crossing, Skyloft from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Dr. Wily’s Fortress “The Ring” from Mega Man, the Wii Fit Yoga Studio, and a Pikmin-themed stage. Nintendo is currently aiming for a 2014 release date for its next Super Smash Bros. title and it will be heading to both the Wii U and the 3DS.
