Super Smash Bros. Wii U is off to a hot start in the U.S. with Nintendo announcing that the game has sold 490,000 units in its first three days of availability. That makes Super Smash Bros. Wii U the fastest-selling game for the console and that figure includes both digital and retail copies. Released on November 21, the game will be available in Europe starting November 28, Australia on November 29 and Japan on December 6.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U dethrones Mario Kart 8 as the fastest-selling game on the Wii U in the U.S., though Nintendo never released sales numbers for the first three days of that game’s release. As for the Smash Bros. franchise, it has sold over 14-million units in the U.S. alone Nintendo has announced.
