Nodusfall is the newest game from HoYoverse, revealed today during gamescom Opening Night Live, and the realistic fantasy action title trades the anime style of Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero for a realistic art direction built in Unreal Engine 5. Inspired by diverse mythologies, the game is focused on cooperative multiplayer, and its debut trailer mixes gameplay footage with in-engine cinematics.
The premise drops you into a world where divine authority has crumbled and order has collapsed. Players take on the role of a Weaver, forging bonds with powerful companions, standing together against earth-shattering foes, and seizing whatever divinity remains in an effort to restore order to the world.
The lore digs a little deeper than the usual reveal blurb. The Divine of creation has fallen silent, leaving only the shattered threads of order adrift in the heavens, and the Weavers were forged by the Divine to seek the source of the calamity, only to fall to the mortal world before they could be enlightened. As one of the lost Weavers, you’ll roam a wild era before myths were written, forge bonds with heroes, battle fearsome beasts, and piece together a shattered self while uncovering forgotten secrets.
HoYoverse notes the game is still in development and that the trailer’s content doesn’t represent the final product, and beyond that, details are thin. No platforms have been announced, there’s no release window, and there’s no word on how the co-op is structured. For now, the trailer is all there is.
