As the PlayStation 4 nears its 12th birthday, Genshin Impact announced it will discontinue support and updates on the console. Developer miHoYo cited hardware performance limitations and application size constraints as the reasons for ending support, and emphasized that the game will continue to operate normally on PlayStation 5. This plan will roll out in three phases, beginning with Genshin Impact’s removal from the PlayStation Store on September 10, 2025. After that date, any account that has never downloaded Genshin Impact on PlayStation 4 will no longer be able to find or download it from the PlayStation Store. Accounts that previously downloaded the game on PlayStation 4 will still be able to re-download it.

In-game purchases for the PlayStation 4 version will be delisted on February 25, 2026, both on the PlayStation Store and in the in-game shop. Players will then have until April 8, 2026, to continue enjoying Genshin Impact on PlayStation 4. On that date, no one will be able to log in to the game on PlayStation 4, and all update support will end. Any unclaimed items can be claimed only by logging in to Genshin Impact on PlayStation 5.

Beginning December 17, 2025, Genshin Impact on PlayStation 4 will periodically remind players to bind their account to another login method, whether to transition to PlayStation 5 or to play on other supported platforms.
