No Rest for the Wicked won’t be leaving Early Access in October after all, with Moon Studios pushing the 1.0 release to March 2027 for PlayStation 5 and PC. Release timing for the XBOX Series X|S and Switch 2 versions is still to be determined. The studio broke the news in a post to its community, explaining that the extra time will go toward improving gameplay performance, tightening the class system, and polishing the game, and creative director Thomas Mahler expanded on the decision in a new community video on YouTube.
The delay comes with a make-good in the form of more testing, as Moon plans to hold additional closed beta tests in the months ahead, followed by an open beta in December that will let the community weigh in during the final stretch of development. Details on those betas will come through the game’s social channels, and the studio’s Wicked Inside developer diaries on YouTube will continue to cover design decisions, content updates, and how the team is working through hurdles along the way.
Early buyers are also getting more runway on the Founders Pack, the set of in-game items Moon previously promised as a thank you for early support. The original cutoff to qualify was July 10, but that has now been moved to January 1, 2027 for PC players. Anyone who bought after July 10 is covered retroactively. PlayStation 5 preorders will open in January, giving those players a shot at the pack as well. The Founders Pack includes a secret hideout called the Spirit Cavern, a new sword lodged in stone called Sayer’s Vow that only early adopters can extract, a custom Founders Tag, and access to an exclusive Public Beta Test Realm that remains available even after the 1.0 launch.
No Rest for the Wicked launched into Steam Early Access in April 2024, where we listed it among our top games to play that month despite its unfinished state. Players take on the role of a Cerim, a member of a holy order with mysterious powers, tasked with destroying the Pestilence consuming the island of Isola Sacra, and the game has since added co-op multiplayer, PvP duels, and expanded combat options across multiple major updates. The 1.0 release is now set for March 2027 on PlayStation 5 and PC, with XBOX Series X|S and Switch 2 to follow on dates still to be determined.
