During the PlayStation Experience keynote today, Square Enix unveiled a new trailer for the Final Fantasy VII Remake that was announced earlier this year at E3 2015. It appears that the company will use the Final Fantasy XV engine and like previous rumors suggested, the battle system will be overhauled. This is the first time we’ve seen actual gameplay for the Final Fantasy VII Remake and we also get to hear voice acting from Barret, Cloud and Wedge.

The game is looking quite impressive and although there are some frame rate drops, that will hopefully be fixed before the game launches. Early demos and trailers of Final Fantasy XV also had frame rate issues that were addressed based on recent footage and the latest version of the demo.

No release date for the Final Fantasy VII Remake has been announced and it does appear that it won’t be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 as the trailer ends with “Play it First on PlayStation 4.”

For those wondering the track being played in the video, it is Opening – Bombing Mission from Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy.
