Mortal Kombat fans have a bit to look forward to, with the Mortal Kombat II movie hitting theaters on October 24, and now we have konfirmation of the full lineup of titles in Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection. Klearly appealing to hardcore fans while preserving a piece of gaming history, the kompilation has konfirmed Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Mortal Kombat Special Forces are part of the lineup. Both titles were from the original PlayStation era and hadn’t been ported to more recent platforms until now.

Also announced today is a version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 that was believed to be lost. It’s the WaveNet edition, which was originally kreated to support an online matchmaking service for arcade machines. There’s a lengthy explanation about this version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on Bluesky by Stephanie Brownback, a NetherRealm lead QA analyst.

Basically, this version of the game features a playable Noob Saibot and several balance changes. Brownback konfirmed that it’s a variant of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 that very few played. Few believed it would ever resurface because that version would only run in an arcade kabinet when konnected to the network. Otherwise, it would default to the standard version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Obviously, the network has long been shut down. The krazy story is that an actual working WaveNet kabinet was found, and Digital Eclipse managed to make it playable outside the network. It’s a fascinating tale if you’re into this sort of thing.

The Kollection also brings a new Rewind feature, which players will appreciate as they slog through Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, as well as on-screen move lists and trainers for learning how to fight and execute Fatalities. It’s similar to what’s available in the latest Mortal Kombat 1, which was recently added to the PlayStation Plus Game Katalog.

The physical version of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and Switch 2 on December 12, 2025, while the digital version—which adds PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC—doesn’t yet have a release date.
