Machinima has released a new trailer for its Mortal Kombat: Legacy II web series, which will have its season kick off on September 26, 2013. What’s shaping up more and more to be the Mortal Kombat movie we’ve always wanted and never got, the new trailer reveals a strong cast of movie stars as Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Kenshi, and Ermac join the ranks.
All the rivalries we know and love from the Mortal Kombat series will unfold as Raiden leads his team of recruits against the dark forces of Outworld. The epic battle for Earthrealm has finally begun.
For those unaware of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy series, the first season debuted on Machinima’s YouTube channel on April 11, 2011. It instantly became a huge hit on the Internet with Mortal Kombat fans. It was originally hoped and pitched that a new movie would be the result, but we had to settle for a web series which may have been the better result anyways.
The first season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy is actually a prequel to the original game, giving background to some of the series’ main characters. This season will actually cover the first tournament.
