Monster Hunter Wilds is currently the top-selling game of the year so far, according to Circana, and now millions of players can look forward to the game’s first free title update. Set to arrive in early April, Capcom will share more details about it on March 25 at 7:00 AM Pacific (10:00 AM Eastern) during a Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase. The broadcast will be hosted by producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, and we can expect to learn more about Mizutsune, a monster that was previously confirmed to return. Mizutsune will be joined by an unknown monster as well as a new gathering area for players. Capcom is promising a host of other new additions with the update.
Released on February 28, Monster Hunter Wilds quickly became Capcom’s fastest-selling game ever, with over eight million units sold in the first three days. The game debuted with over 1.3 million concurrent players on PC and shows just how popular the franchise has become since Monster Hunter: World made it more accessible to millions of players. In our Monster Hunter Wilds review, we criticized the game for its poor performance on PC, but at the end of the day, it’s still one of the most fun co-op experiences we’ve had.
