MechWarrior Online is now available as a free-to-play game for the PC. Featuring epic robot combat like you’ve never seen before, MechWarrior Online throws you into the year 3050 with 24 players on the battlefield. You’ll be able to customize your BattleMech with unique ballistics, energy weapons and missiles in order to defend the Inner Sphere in the multi-story megaton machines.

MechWarrior Online is developed by Piranha Games and is available on PC only at the time. Players engage in 12 vs. 12 battles and can earn experience and c-bills to upgrade their BattleMechs. There are currently two game modes available: Assault and Conquest. In Assault, players protect and attack a single base while in Conquest they’ll have to capture and hold several points on the map.

Upcoming features include Community Warfare, where players will be able to align with one of six factions.
