Arc System Works revealed the second team for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls at the Arc World Tour 2025-2026 Finals in Korea today: the Amazing Guardians. Following the Unbreakable X-Men reveal back in February, this new team is made up of Spider-Man (voiced by Josh Keaton), Ms. Marvel (voiced by Dalia Rooni), Star-Lord (voiced by Scott Porter), and Peni Parker (voiced by Risa Mei).

Peni Parker is the standout addition here, and she’s a new playable character joining the roster. A Japanese-American student and brilliant scientist, Peni pilots the SP//dr mech suit created by her father, fighting as the spider hero of a parallel universe. In MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, she uses a range of gadgets and tools to improvise strategies on the fly. It’s a fun pick that speaks to how deep Arc System Works is willing to go with the Marvel roster rather than just stacking it with the most obvious choices.

The trailer also introduces a new original character called the Promoter. Her real name is Xirena Awhina, and she’s an Elder of the Universe who travels the galaxy organizing entertainment on a massive scale. She invites the game’s heroes and villains to a high-stakes tournament that will determine the fate of Earth, which sets up the game’s Episode Mode storyline.

On the gameplay side, Arc System Works has added an automatic team name generation feature that references Marvel lore based on your selected characters. The name shows up on screen and is announced by a ring announcer, which is a nice touch for fans who like building custom teams. The team also confirmed it has been making refinements based on feedback from last year’s two closed beta tests.

The latest hands-on demo will be playable at EVO Japan 2026 in Tokyo from May 1 through 3, featuring Peni Parker and the Knowhere battle stage. That brings the playable demo roster to 12 characters across four stages. MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches August 6 for PlayStation 5 and PC at $59.99.
