Marth, from the Fire Emblem series, has been confirmed to be joining the battle in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. game for the Nintendo Wii U and 2DS / 3DS consoles. Marth first appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee and later returned for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The announcement of Marth to the new Super Smash Bros. game makes the current roster at 18 characters: Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Pit, Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Pikmin & Olimar, Luigi, Peach, Toon Link and Sonic the Hedgehog.
