Lucario has been added to the ever-growing roster for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. heading to the Wii U, 2DS and 3DS consoles. Lucario first joined the battle in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which was released six years ago. According to franchise creator Masahiro Sakurai, Lucario almost missed the cut in joining the latest Super Smash Bros. game. “The production staff of Brawl worked really hard to expand the character roster–without their efforts, Lucario probably never would have joined the battle.”
Sakurai also confirmed that the fighter’s “Aura” ability from the previous game will make a return but this time it’ll be much more powerful.
Super Smash Bros. will be released later this year, though no official release date has been announced.
