Earlier today, during the Little Nightmares Showcase Event, Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco announced that Little Nightmares III will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC on October 10, 2025. The publisher also revealed the franchise has now sold 20 million units, a number that will surely grow with the third entry.

To celebrate the milestone and the announcement of Little Nightmares III’s release date, the team also unveiled Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, which brings Six’s story to a new standard with technical enhancements, including volumetric lighting and ray tracing. Some gameplay changes have also been made with better checkpoint placement and gameplay helpers. Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition has the same release date as Little Nightmares III—October 10, 2025; however, those who preorder a digital copy of Little Nightmares III get access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition right away. Also, those who own the original Little Nightmares on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC will receive the upgraded version for free when it launches in October. Switch owners are out of luck, as the Enhanced Edition is only playable on Switch 2.

As for Little Nightmares III, Bandai Namco confirmed the game will offer a Friend’s Pass, meaning only one copy of the game is required to enjoy it with a friend. The title’s co-op feature is online only, so an internet connection is required. Unfortunately, the game will not support cross-platform, but users can play with others within the same manufacturer—PlayStation 4 with PlayStation 5, Xbox One with Xbox Series X|S, and Switch with Switch 2.

Today’s presentation also confirmed Little Nightmares III will have DLC, as the Expansion Pass includes two additional game chapters that will explore more about the mysteries of the Spiral. Details on those extra chapters will come at a later date.

Originally announced in August 2023, Little Nightmares III comes from the same team as Until Dawn, Supermassive Games. They are not the same developers as the first two games’ creator, Tarsier Studios. It was originally scheduled to launch sometime in 2024, but a delay was announced in May 2024.
