Last week, Electronic Arts and Ascendant Studios announced Immortals of Aveum, a first-person magic shooter that is heading to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in July. Now, we get to see over six minutes of gameplay for the upcoming title with the release of this first look trailer. It focuses on the protagonist, Jak, and shows off how players will be able to switch between red, green, and blue magic. We also see him execute a number of powerful Furies, as well as using the Lash ability to pull enemies toward him. There are also glimpses of traversal mechanics with a grapple ability.

Ascendant Studios also shared a video showcasing the game’s environments. If it looks fancy, that’s because Immortals of Aveum is one of the first games to use Unreal Engine 5.1, and it shows.
