Last night, during the Game Awards 2024, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (review) will launch on PC on January 23, 2025. The PC version of the game will feature a range of graphics settings and Square Enix confirmed that players will be able to achieve frame rates of up to 120 FPS. Other enhancements include refined lighting, improved environment detail, and more detailed textures. The game will also support NVIDIA DLSS and VRR. As for Steam Deck players, the team is optimizing the game for Steam Deck, and more information about verification will come in the future.

The game is currently available for preorder on Steam and Epic Games Store. Ordering now gives up to a 30 percent discount, which will end on February 5, 2025. The base game is $48.99, while a Digital Deluxe Edition is available for $62.99, which adds a digital artbook, digital mini-soundtrack, Magic Pot Summoning Materia, Reclaimant Choker accessory, and Orchid Bracelet Armor. Those who are new to the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy can grab the twin-pack that includes Final Fantasy VII Remake for $69.99. There’s a Digital Deluxe Twin Pack for $89.99.

The PC requirements are as expected, with an RTX 4080 being necessary for 4K / 60 FPS performance. Hopefully, the port is optimized and runs well, since the game needed the PlayStation 5 Pro and PSSR to look good and achieve 60 FPS.

I now have Final Fantasy VII Rebirth as the best game I’ve ever played and I’m looking forward to doing another playthrough at some point on PC.
