Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is making the jump to Switch 2, Arc System Works confirmed during Evo 2026. The new version arrives on September 17, the same day the fighter’s Version 2.60 update goes live across every platform.

That update is headlined by a new playable character in Id, a fighter pulled from Cygames’ broader Granblue Fantasy universe, who arrives alongside a balance pass and other changes. Cygames marked the reveal with an Id teaser that premiered during Evo, complete with a “Mr. Fix-Id” nickname. Beyond the new fighter and the balance tuning, the studio is keeping the finer details under wraps for now.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising first launched back in December 2023 and has been available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Switch 2 means the franchise is heading to a Nintendo platform finally. Cygames says more information is on the way, so we should learn more about the September 17 update closer to release.
