So far this year, gamers have feasted on video game adaptations on both the television screen and the movie theater. HBO’s The Last of Us was a wild success and The Super Mario Bros. Movie has set records everywhere, including surpassing the $1 billion mark. And hopefully the Twisted Metal show starring Anthony Mackie is half decent.

Now, we have our first real trailer for the upcoming Gran Turismo movie, which is based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough. If you’ve followed the Gran Turismo franchise, you might know the game spawned the GT Academy, giving players the opportunity to earn a real-life professional racing career with Nissan. The idea came from Darren Cox, who will be portrayed by Orlando Bloom in the film.

Since 2008, there have been 22 graduates from the GT Academy, and the film focuses on 2011 European winner Jann Mardenborough. The movie is directed by Neill Klomkamp and stars David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Archie Madekwe, Darren Barnet, Geri Halliwell Horner, and Djimon Hounsou.
