We’re already nearing the end of October, which means it’s time for Xbox to announce the next batch of titles heading to its Game Pass subscription service. Earlier this month, Game Pass saw noticeable changes, with the biggest change to the Ultimate tier, which now costs $29.99 per month. In addition, day one titles are now exclusive to Ultimate subscribers, while Premium members will get new Xbox-published games within a year of launch. Those changes are already affecting new Game Pass additions, as many of today’s announcements are available only on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
Starting today, two titles are available with Game Pass Premium: Commandos: Origins on Cloud, Console, and PC, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. Commandos: Origins brings back the six iconic commandos from the original series, blending stealth tactics gameplay with two-player co-op support. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 needs no introduction, putting players into the cockpit of numerous aircraft as they pursue a virtual aviation career.
The next three titles are day one releases with Game Pass, available only to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. The first is PowerWash Simulator 2 on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S, available on October 23. The sequel to PowerWash Simulator, PowerWash Simulator 2 brings fresh locations, new equipment, and splashy features. There’s something oddly satisfying about playing PowerWash Simulator, and the second entry looks to build on everything that made the first so successful.

Also launching on October 23 is Bounty Star on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. This over-the-shoulder 3D action game pairs mech combat and customization with farming and base-building. Players take on the role of Clem, a war veteran, talented fighter, and expert mech mechanic who is now broken. As she attempts to get rid of the guilt and shame of her past, Clem aspires to become a legitimate force for good in the Red Expanse, a post-apocalyptic version of the American Southwest.
The next title, Super Fantasy Kingdom, is launching on Game Pass for PC on October 24. It’s a roguelite city builder where players rebuild their kingdom and explore a fantasy world. They’ll have to focus on defeating hordes of monsters using a team of defenders while harvesting, building, mining, cooking, brewing, and growing.
Next up is one of my favorite games to play on the Steam Deck, Halls of Torment. This horde survival roguelite is heavily inspired by Vampire Survivors, but it’s the one I actually prefer in the genre for its Diablo-inspired inventory system. Last year, I had the opportunity to review Halls of Torment for its 1.0 release, and it remains my favorite in the genre. I also interviewed the team that created the game, Chasing Carrots.

Arguably the biggest title of the month is The Outer Worlds 2, a day one release on October 29 for Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. Again, it’s only available to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. The sequel comes from Obsidian Entertainment, which has released three titles this year: Avowed, Grounded 2 (Early Access), and now The Outer Worlds 2. It’s a first-person sci-fi RPG that looks to build on the foundation of the original, but it’s worth noting you can jump right into the sequel without having to play The Outer Worlds.
As a preview of November, 1000xRESIST, which we covered last week, will be available on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S starting November 4 for Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass subscribers. This is a wonderful, narrative-driven sci-fi adventure. It’s a game I really enjoyed earlier this year, knowing almost nothing about it. I highly recommend it if you like games that focus on storytelling, and I’d say go in as blind as possible for the best experience.
Also on November 4 is another day one release with Football Manager 26 on PC and Football Manager 26 Console on Cloud, Console, and PC. Built in Unity, Football Manager 26 is the latest from Sports Interactive and lets players live out the fantasy of building their own football destiny. For us Americans, this is English football, which we call soccer.
The following titles will be leaving the Game Pass library on October 31:
- Jusant (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Metal Slug Tactics (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Return to Monkey Island (Cloud, Console, and PC)
