September is a busy month for new releases, from Hollow Knight: Silksong (available on Game Pass) to Borderlands 4, Dying Light: The Beast, and Silent Hill f. There’s no shortage of games to play. If you’re a Game Pass subscriber, though, and not looking to spend money on a new game, there’s plenty to look forward to in the back half of September 2025. Starting today, RoadCraft heads to Cloud and Xbox Series X|S for Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard subscribers. RoadCraft has players operating a fleet of over 40 authentic construction vehicles as they work to clear debris, repair roads and bridges, and restore infrastructure after natural disasters.
Tomorrow, September 17, Game Pass Standard gets Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on Console. The direct sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III follows Captain Price and Task Force 141 as they face off against the ultranationalist war criminal Vladimir Makarov. Also heading to Game Pass Standard on that day are For the King II on Console and Overthrown on Xbox Series X|S as a Game Preview (Early Access) title. For the King II has players battling against Fahrul’s tyrannical Queen in a turn-based roguelite tabletop RPG, while Overthrown is a chaotic city builder that supports up to six-player co-op.

One of the more exciting titles for September 2025’s wave 2 lineup is the official release of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, also on September 17. It’ll be available on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. For those unfamiliar, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor has been in Early Access since February 14, 2024, and is a survivor-like auto-shooter set in the Deep Rock Galactic universe. I’m really looking forward to spending time with this one.
The excitement continues on September 18, when Frostpunk 2 (Cloud and Xbox Series X|S) and Wobbly Life (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) join the lineup. Frostpunk 2 will be available to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, while Wobbly Life joins the Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard libraries. Frostpunk 2 is already available with Xbox on PC, but it is being added to Cloud and Xbox Series X|S, so more players can suffer through the post-apocalyptic society survival game. Wobbly Life, meanwhile, is a lot less depressing and is a vibrant open-world physics sandbox game. It’s an entertaining game to play with friends, taking on jobs and minigames as you try to awkwardly navigate around the Wobbly World.
With Hades II exiting Early Access on September 25, the original Hades is returning to Game Pass on September 19, on Cloud, Console, and PC. Available to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard subscribers, the original Hades is also celebrating its five-year anniversary. If you’ve somehow never played Hades, it’s a game you don’t want to miss. I currently have it as my favorite game to play on the Steam Deck, although I have a feeling its sequel will replace it soon.

The list continues with Endless Legend 2 as a day one release on September 22, when it enters Game Preview (Early Access) on PC. The 4X fantasy turn-based strategy game comes from the same team behind Humankind and Endless Space, Amplitude Studios, and features asymmetric factions led by powerful heroes. You can learn more about it in this detailed blog post on Xbox Wire.
There are still four more titles to go for the month, with Sworn joining the Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S libraries on September 23. This one-to-four-player co-op action roguelike will be available to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, letting friends explore and reclaim a fallen Camelot together. It’s a bit like a multiplayer Hades, though not as in-depth or polished. For something extra casual, there’s Peppa Pig: World Adventures on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. It’ll be available on September 25 to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard subscribers, letting everyone explore the world of Peppa Pig with new characters to meet, quests to take on, and countless accessories to dress up with.

While Visions of Mana wasn’t quite what everyone hoped for with the Mana series returning, it’s still an enjoyable game for fans of the series. Joining the Game Pass library on September 25, for Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S, Visions of Mana follows the story of Val and his childhood friend Hinna, the newly appointed Alm of Fire. Together, they set off on a journey to the Mana Tree, where they’ll be accompanied by friends they meet along the way. Visions of Mana will be available to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard subscribers.
The final title for the month of September is Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, arriving on Cloud, Console, and PC on September 30. Heading to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a 2010 title that combines the hallmarks of the Tomb Raider franchise with character progression and fast-paced combat. Join Lara and her new partner, Totec, as they uncover the ancient artifact known as the Mirror of Smoke.
Xbox also snuck in one of the titles joining Game Pass in October, Sopa – Tale of the Stolen Potato. It’s a day one release on October 7, a touching narrative adventure in which Miho explores a world of magical realism inspired by Latin America. Sopa – Tale of the Stolen Potato heads to Cloud, Console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. In addition, Game Pass Core members will get three new titles starting October 1: Cities: Skylines – Remastered, Disney Dreamlight Valley, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
As usual, Xbox also shared the titles that will be leaving the Game Pass library on September 30:
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Terra Invicta (Game Preview) (PC)
