Game Pass is really delivering this year, especially with last month’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for RPG fans. There are plenty of games to look forward to in May 2025, and one of our most anticipated games of the year, DOOM: The Dark Ages, is part of the Game Pass May 2025 lineup. Before we get to that, however, Dredge is available starting today, May 6, on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S for Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard subscribers. It’s a single-player fishing adventure with a bit of horror mixed in.
Tomorrow, May 7, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 heads to Cloud, Console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard members. Billed as the ultimate Dragon Ball gaming experience, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 allows players to create their own character, explore Conton City, and team up with iconic characters from the series. Also on May 7, three additional games will be joining the Game Pass Standard lineup: Dungeons of Hinterberg (Console), Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn (Xbox Series X|S), and Metal Slug Tactics (Console).
Dungeons of Hinterberg is a stylish action-adventure game set in a mountain town that’s turned into a magical tourist trap. Players will have to solve puzzles and explore dungeons while balancing small-town charm with monster-slaying. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is an action RPG that blends gunpowder, melee weapons, and magic. Players take on the role of Nor Vanek, who is joined by her fox-like companion Enki, as they wage war against gods. Metal Slug Tactics, as its name suggests, is a grid-based tactics game set in the Metal Slug universe.

One game we’re hoping to find the time to play cooperatively is Revenge of the Savage Planet, arriving May 8 on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. The sequel puts players in a satirical sci-fi world filled with corporate greed and stupidity. After being left stranded on an alien planet, players must find their way back to Earth to get revenge on their former employer.
Also available May 8 is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed on Cloud, Console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard subscribers. This TMNT adventure combines beat ’em up action with a new storyline that can be played solo or with friends. After a short break, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 joins the lineup May 13 on Cloud and Console for Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard. This title is making a return to the Game Pass library and is arguably still the most popular co-op Warhammer game.

The title I’m most looking forward to is DOOM: The Dark Ages, releasing May 15 (day one) on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. The game serves as a prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal, despite being the third installment of the modern DOOM series. This entry looks to shift to a darker, medieval setting where the DOOM Slayer gets equipped with an awesome Shield Saw and sometimes that’s all we need to see for a DOOM game.
If you have no interest in DOOM: The Dark Ages, another day one title joins Game Pass on May 16: Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo on Cloud, Console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members. This papercraft adventure game is a third-person puzzle-platformer set in a looping afterlife. For something entirely different, May 20 sees the arrival of Firefighting Simulator: The Squad on Cloud, Console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard subscribers. This title lets players experience what it’s like to fight fires up close as a firefighter in an American city. Play solo or team up with others using officially licensed fire trucks.
Rather fight crime than fires? Also joining the lineup on May 20 is Police Simulator: Patrol Officers on Cloud, Console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard members. This game takes players to the fictional city of Brighton, where they join the police force and experience the day-to-day life of a police officer. Like Firefighting Simulator: The Squad, Police Simulator: Patrol Officers can be played solo or in co-op.
As usual, Xbox has also announced that the following games are leaving the Game Pass library on May 15:
- Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Chants of Sennaar (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Dune: Spice Wars (Game Preview) (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Hauntii (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- The Big Con (Cloud, Console, and PC)
