Xbox’s Game Pass service has had a fantastic year, giving players access to some of 2025’s best games, including Avowed in February, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Blue Prince in April, and Monster Train 2 and DOOM: The Dark Ages in May. While things slow down a bit for the first wave of August titles, there is still a great variety of games to keep subscribers occupied.

Starting today, August 5, Rain World is available on Cloud, Console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard subscribers. The popular 2D survival platformer lets players control a slugcat that relies on stealth and wit, learning the ecosystem and using it to its advantage.

On August 6, four titles join the Game Pass Standard lineup on Xbox Series X|S: Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, MechWarrior 5: Clans, and Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap. We reviewed Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap earlier this year, and while its core gameplay loop is similar to previous titles, it had its fair share of issues.

For many, the biggest title in this lineup is Assassin’s Creed Mirage, available on Cloud, Console, and PC on August 7. It is available to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, putting them in the shoes of Basim in ninth-century Baghdad. On August 12, Aliens: Fireteam Elite returns to Game Pass on Cloud, Console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard subscribers. The cooperative third-person survival shooter pits marines against Xenomorphs.

The final title joining Game Pass in the first half of August is 9 Kings, a Game Preview (Early Access) title on PC. Available to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members, 9 Kings is a fast-paced roguelike kingdom builder in which players grow their empire and fight massive battles against rival kings.

Three titles leave the Game Pass library on August 15:

  • Anthem (Console and PC) EA Play
  • Farming Simulator 22 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Persona 3 Reload (Cloud, Console, and PC)
