One of the best games I’ve ever played, Final Fantasy XIV, is finally launching on Xbox Series X|S on March 21 at 1:00am Pacific (4:00am Eastern). Xbox gamers interested in exploring the world of Etheirys will have several options to choose from on the Microsoft Store. The Starter Edition includes the base game along with the first and second expansions, Heavensward and Stormblood, which is the same content found in the Free Trial. Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker includes the Shadowbringers and Endwalker expansions but requires the Starter Edition to play. “An Endwalker Collector’s Edition is available, including several in-game bonus items.
The more comprehensive package is the Final Fantasy XIV Online Complete Edition, which includes everything you need to get caught up before the Dawntrail expansion releases this summer. A Collector’s Edition, featuring in-game bonus items, is also available. If you’re unsure about Final Fantasy XIV, the Free Trial allows you to play up to level 70 for free and experience content from A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood with no playtime restrictions. For a limited time, anyone who purchases the Starter Edition, Complete Edition, or Complete Collector’s Edition will get the Wind-up Palom Minion and Menphina earring (30% EXP bonus up to level 80) in-game items.
Playing Final Fantasy XIV requires an Xbox Game Pass Core or Ultimate subscription, although the Free Trial does not. The game will not be a Game Pass library title. Players will also have to link their Xbox account and Square Enix account in order to play Final Fantasy XIV.
