Emberville now has a Steam Early Access date of October 27, and indie developer Cygnus Cross paired the announcement with the game’s biggest gameplay reveal yet and a major expansion of its voice cast. The action RPG has players rebuilding a forgotten world, where every expedition into the mysterious Vitromotus feeds the settlement growing above it.
The new gameplay trailer follows the journey from waking up in the Vitromotus to turning a forgotten estate into a functioning home, hitting the loop of expeditions, fast-paced combat, crafting, and companion recruitment along the way. New cinematic narration comes from Jane Perry, while the score is handled by Emberville composer Greg Dombrowski, founder of Secession Studios.

Today’s announcement also expands the voice cast in a big way, with 18 new performers joining a roster that already included Doug Cockle (The Witcher 3), Amelia Tyler (Baldur’s Gate 3), Alex Jordan (The Alters), and Abubakar Salim (Assassin’s Creed: Origins). Some familiar names include Matthew Mercer of Critical Role fame, Jennifer English and Ben Starr, who both appeared in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy’s Briana White, content creator LilyPichu, and DJ Dillon Francis. Here’s the full list of new cast members:

As for the game itself, Emberville pairs action RPG combat with long-term settlement progression, where every trip into the Vitromotus unlocks new NPCs, crafting options, classes, and storylines for the town above. Combat layers a weapon-bound combo system and class skills on top of a traditional two-button setup, and an Inherited Skills system carries combat skills from one leveled-up class to another. There’s also farming, gathering, and crafting, a customizable player estate for building and decorating, and a large world of distinct biomes, encounters, and hidden treasures. Emberville launches into Steam Early Access on October 27, and pricing hasn’t been announced yet.
