Dying Light: The Beast, which launched on September 18, is gearing up for numerous updates over the next 11 weeks, starting with a major one that adds New Game+. Techland has shared a roadmap detailing what’s to come for the latest entry in the Dying Light franchise, which we thoroughly enjoyed. In my review, I said Dying Light: The Beast isn’t just a return to form for Techland but also one of the best games we’ve played this year as a group. It brought back many of the fond memories we had from the original Dying Light and did a great job washing away the bad taste in our mouths from Dying Light 2: Stay Human.
While the roadmap doesn’t have definitive dates for the major updates, it does show the dates for the Community Challenges, which kick off today. The Call of the Beast campaign includes 11 weeks of community challenges with 22 exclusive prizes and one Legendary reward. That means it will run until January 7, 2026, and those who care about the rewards will need to log in to collect them each week. Techland confirmed that once the week is over, the exclusive rewards “could” be gone forever.
For week one, the first goal is to cut off 30 million limbs, which rewards players with the Lumberjack Car Skin. The second goal is to double that total to 60 million limbs, granting the Woodchopper Axe. Again, these are community challenges, so you don’t actually have to be the one cutting off millions of limbs in a week. Techland has set up the Dying Light Outpost so players can check the overall community progress.
As for the major updates, Dying Light: The Beast will also get Legend Levels and Nightmare Difficulty in the future. Those major updates will come with ray tracing support on PC, new weapon executions, and visual and quality-of-life improvements. The game is also getting a collaboration event with PUBG Mobile, starting today and running through November 4.
