Originally set to be a launch title for the PlayStation 4, Driveclub has been officially delayed until early 2014 Sony has announced. The news comes shortly after Ubisoft announced that the highly anticipated Watch Dogs would be delayed until spring 2014.
It’s a small blow to the PlayStation 4’s launch, considering Driveclub was an exclusive and PlayStation Plus members were getting an edition of the game included in their membership at launch. According to Shuhei Yoshida, President of SCE Worldwide Studios, “the team requires more time in order to deliver on their vision,” causing the announced delay.
Driveclub will still be part of the Instant Game Collection when it is released, but taking its place during the PS4’s launch period is Contrast, a highly anticipated game from Compulsion Games. Members will also get exclusive “Open Weekend” trial of Killzone Shadow Fall multiplayer on December 28-29.
