Announced earlier this month, Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons now has a release date: July 27. Heading to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC, this new Double Dragon game sees the return of Billy and Jimmy Lee, who are joined by Marian and newcomer Uncle Matin. Marian returns to the franchise a fully realized, firearm-wielding ranged fighter, while newcome Uncle Matin is a riot-shield-wielding powerhouse.

In Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons, players will be able to tag in and out as the classic Lee duo or switch it up with any of the 13 unique playable characters. The game also features roguelite elements through a dynamic mission select function. The sequence in which players select their missions can influence the duration of the mission, the number of enemies, and the overall difficulty. Purchase randomized upgrades for characters after each mission, or save the money for revives during a mission.
