Today is just full of Nintendo Switch 2 announcements, and another brand-new game heading to the console is Donkey Kong Bananza. The new 3D platforming action-adventure game puts Donkey Kong through the depths of the Underground World, where the deeper he goes, the more amazing places he finds. Making the game a true Donkey Kong adventure, he’ll be able to pulverize nearly everything on the screen with his powerful punches. That means players will be able to break through to wherever they want to go.
So what’s the story here? Well, a mysterious group known as VoidCo has its eyes on golden bananas that have the whole island buzzing. VoidCo has managed to steal every bunch of bananas, and Donkey Kong must venture deep underground to get them back. On the way, he’ll be accompanied by a new purple friend.
Donkey Kong Bananza is going to be priced at $69.99, and it’s unclear whether the physical version will cost more. Nintendo has been a bit vague on the pricing of Switch 2 titles, as certain regions have confirmed that physical versions of games will cost extra. Mario Kart World, which is a Switch 2 launch title, will cost $79.99 separately as a digital version. So, it appears Nintendo will be pricing its first-party games differently, but let’s not forget that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launched at a $69.99 price point.
