Millions are enjoying their new Switch 2 consoles this month, and on July 17 we’ll get to dive into the next Switch 2 exclusive Donkey Kong Bananza. Before that, though, Nintendo will share more details on the 3D platformer on June 18 at 6:00 AM Pacific (9:00 AM Eastern) with the Donkey Kong Bananza Direct. Once again, Nintendo made the announcement first in the Nintendo Today! app, which is also where Splatoon Raiders made its debut last week. Also, since it’s a Donkey Kong Bananza Direct, don’t expect news on any other games.

Donkey Kong Bananza was announced in April at the Switch 2 Direct and is a brand-new 3D platforming action-adventure game starring the iconic Donkey Kong. The focus of the game is Donkey Kong’s ability to crash, bash, and climb through nearly everything in his path, ripping off chunks of terrain to swing and throw around. He’ll be joined on the journey by a new purple rock friend as they look to deal with VoidCo, which has managed to steal every bunch of golden bananas.
