Bungie announced today that Destiny 2 will receive its final live-service content update on June 9, 2026. The studio is calling that final update Destiny 2: Monument of Triumph, and from there, Bungie says it will turn its focus to incubating its next games. The game itself will remain playable, the same way the original Destiny still is today.

In its statement, Bungie said that “after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2.” The studio framed Monument of Triumph as a celebration of the years of stories built up in Destiny 2 rather than a quiet shutdown, with many of the changes intended to ensure Destiny 2 remains a welcoming place for players to return to.

The update itself is broad. Bungie is bringing back the Director as the central hub for activities in response to player feedback on the Portal. A new permanent Pantheon mode is launching with its first slate of bosses on June 9, a full gauntlet on June 13, and rotating single-boss encounters starting June 16. Raid, dungeon, and destination loot is being brought up to modern Tier standards with new perks and set bonuses, and there are new Aspects for Solar Hunter, Void Warlock, and Solar Titan, plus a new Void Hunter melee and two new universal grenades for Strand and Stasis.

Seasonal events like Festival of the Lost, The Dawning, Guardian Games, and Solstice are being retired, with their weapon rewards consolidated into a Monument of Triumph vendor. The Crucible is getting three new game modes, Iron Banner shifts to a four-week cadence with Trials on the off weekends, and Gambit is being upgraded to an Ops category with reprised weapons and a new armor set. Sparrow Racing League also returns as a permanent addition, with original Destiny tracks, a new race space, a new weapon set, and returning armor sets.

A new bundle called Destiny 2: The Collection rolls out on June 9, packaging every campaign, expansion, dungeon key, and the 30th Anniversary Pack into a single purchase. Individual expansions and content packs will also receive permanent markdowns in June.

Bungie says This Week in Destiny posts will continue through launch and for a few weeks after before going into hibernation. The full breakdown of what’s coming in Monument of Triumph is available on Bungie’s blog.
