Bungie has announced that Destiny 2’s expansion, The Final Shape, is now launching on June 4, 2024. Originally set to launch on February 27, Bungie said the expansion “needs more time to become exactly what we want it to be,” hence the delay. To bridge the gap caused by the delay, Bungie has extended the Season of the Wish, starting tomorrow, to continue until the launch of The Final Shape. While most content and narrative for Season of the Wish will proceed as planned from late November to February, Bungie is also introducing additional content for players to enjoy.

Beginning in February, players can look forward to new weekly quests named Wishes and the launch of Moments of Triumph, featuring unique awards. Guardian Games is being moved up to March with an updated focus on class vs. class competition. In April, Bungie will roll out a two-month content update accessible to all players, titled Destiny 2: Into the Light. This content update will prepare players for their journey into the Traveler. In addition, the PvP Strike Team’s ongoing efforts will add three new PvP maps in May.

The development team also added that further details on The Final Shape, including new gameplay and content additions, will be unveiled in April.
