Kojima Productions and PlayStation have announced they will host the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Special Panel at the SXSW 2025 festival on March 9 in Austin, Texas. During the panel, Kojima will take the stage to share new details about the upcoming sequel that is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 later this year. Those attending SXSW 2025 can find the panel in Ballroom D at 4:00pm Central (2:00pm Pacific, 5:00pm Eastern). It appears there will be a livestream, but there are currently no details on that yet.
In addition, Kojima Productions will have an exclusive pop-up shop at SXSW featuring the latest Death Stranding 2: On the Beach merchandise. Visitors can expect exclusive items available only at SXSW, so Death Stranding fans will want to stop by the pop-up shop.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is the highly anticipated sequel to Death Stranding, one of the most interesting games I’ve played and actually finished. The sequel sees the return of actors Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker, along with newcomers Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Academy Award-winning film director George Miller.
With a State of Play confirmed for tomorrow, February 12, and now a panel at SXSW 2025, all signs point to a release date for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach coming sooner rather than later.
