Less than a year after its release on PlayStation 5, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is heading to PC on March 19. The sequel has players take Sam Porter Bridges on a new adventure to connect Australia to the Chiral network. On PC, the experience will be even better, with support for NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel upscaling and frame generation, along with uncapped frame rates. Like the original Death Stranding on PC, the sequel will also have ultrawide monitor support, including 21:9 and 32:9, both in 4K resolution. Naturally, it will also have DualSense controller support, alongside mouse and keyboard support. The game also takes advantage of 3D Audio via Dolby Access, DTS Sound Unbound, or Windows Sonic for Headphones.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is also getting new modes and features that will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PC. Unfortunately, Kojima Productions didn’t elaborate, but did say more details will come next month ahead of the game’s PC launch.
Preorders ($69.99) are now available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, and those who preorder will receive: Custom Hologram (Quokka early unlock), Battle Skeleton: Silver (Lv1, Lv2, Lv3), Boost Skeleton: Silver (Lv1, Lv2, Lv3), and Bokka Skeleton: Silver (Lv1, Lv2, Lv3). There is also a Digital Deluxe Edition for $79.99 that includes a Machine Gun MP early unlock, Patch 70: Quokka, Patch 71: Chiral Cat, Patch 72: Why Me?, Battle Skeleton: Gold (Lv1, Lv2, Lv3), Boost Skeleton: Gold (Lv1, Lv2, Lv3), and Bokka Skeleton: Gold (Lv1, Lv2, Lv3).
I really enjoyed Death Stranding 2: On the Beach last year, but I also felt like it gave the player too much choice and freedom this time around. I explain more in my review, but I do believe that how much you enjoy Death Stranding 2: On the Beach comes down to which aspects of the original’s gameplay appealed to you.
