PlayStation and Firewalk Studios’ Concord might just be the most disastrous launch in recent history. The live service hero shooter was not well received after its initial reveal and garnered little interest during its beta events. Following launch, it failed to capture any real audience, likely due to its $39.99 price tag. Now, the team has announced Concord is going offline starting September 6, 2024 so that they can explore options, including those that will better reach our players. The game was officially released on August 23, so this might be a record for such a high-profile title to be taken offline. It’s very likely Concord will return as a free-to-play title with microtransactions.
Sales of the game have already stopped, and everyone who purchased it on PlayStation 5 or PC will receive a full refund. Those who purchased a physical copy at a retailer will have to go through the retailer’s standard refund process to get a refund.
