Cities: Skylines Snowfall will land on February 18, Paradox Interactive has announced. The expansion will sport a $12.99 price tag and will add a new in-game temperature system to keep virtual mayors on their toes. When the snow starts to fall in your city, the roads will need to be kept clear and residents will need their building heated. In addition, residents will have the chance to visit new winter parks and landmarks available in Snowfall. There will also be a new transportation option in the form of a tram system that can get residents across town in all sorts of weather.

Like the previous Cities: Skyline expansion, After Dark, certain updates will be available for free to all owners of the game. It’s currently unclear which features will be free and which will be paid.

Colossal Order’s development team has been posting dev diaries to share some insights on what to expect when Snowfall lands later this month. Players will need snow plows to collect snow and store it at snow dumps and there will even be new policies that demand elderly people to wear anti-slipping studs on their shoes to increase their health.

As for the all-new tram system, they will operate on tracks and reside in a tram depot when they are not on lines. The basic principle for the tram system is pretty much the same as buses. Players will be able to build tracks by upgrading or downgrading existing roads to versions with tracks, or build new roads with tracks.
