Paradox Interactive has announced Cities: Skylines Snowfall, the game’s next expansion that will also feature a free update to the base game. According to the company, Snowfall will add cosmetic weather composed of rain and fog to Cities: Skylines for free, along with other features that will be announced soon. Players that purchase the expansion will get to face new challenges like making sure their city infrastructure can handle seasonal heating demands. Of course once the snow falls, mayors will have to make sure their roads can stay clear with new snowplow services.

Snowfall will also add new all-weather trams and expanded public transit options to help residents and visitors get around town in order to visit the new winter parks and landmarks being incorporated.

The addition of cold weather will increase citizen’s demands for electricity, unless new water-based heat systems are in place. Lastly, Paradox Interactive has said that along with expanded public transportation options, Snowfall will feature easier management of existing lines and Trams.

Oh yeah, there’s also new chirps, an addition that we’re sure every Cities: Skylines virtual mayor is dying for.

Like the previous expansion, After Dark, some features will be made free to all Cities: Skylines owners while others will only be available with the purchase of the expansion.
