Ubisoft is celebrating the first month of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced with a batch of community stats, covering how players have spent their time since the remake launched on July 9. The headline number is distance: players have logged 40.07 million kilometers aboard the Jackdaw, which Ubisoft says works out to roughly 1,000 trips around the world under full sail.
The combat numbers are another story. Players hold a 47 percent win rate against Legendary Ships, the toughest naval encounters in the game, so slightly more than half of those fights are ending at the bottom of the Caribbean. On land, the community has spent 8.07 million hours crouched, which Ubisoft says accounts for 10 percent of total playtime. That’s a lot of hiding in bushes for a game that lets you go in swords swinging if you want.
Rounding out the list, Privateer took the top spot as the community’s favorite outfit, fitting for a story where Edward starts as a privateer chasing gold rather than an actual Assassin. Le Bourgeoys Blades ranked as the favorite weapon. And players have petted 28.29 million animals across the Caribbean, with cats coming in at number one.
As someone who put about 40 hours into Resynced, half of that just pirating around the seas, none of these numbers surprise me. In my review, I compared sailing the open seas and island hopping to web-swinging in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, where fast travel exists but not using it is actually more fun. Forty million kilometers says the community mostly agrees with me. The crouching number tracks too, since I found the stealth far more forgiving than your typical stealth game, the kind you can actually commit to without losing patience.
The stats cap off a strong first month for Ubisoft, with the remake passing three million copies sold by mid July and clearing the publisher’s annual sales forecast well ahead of schedule. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is available now on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Ubisoft+, and PC through the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. If you’re one of the few who hasn’t set sail yet, my review covers why it’s an easy recommendation.
