This year, we’ve seen plenty of great roguelite titles from indie developers, including Ball x Pit. Launched in October, Ball x Pit quickly became one of my new addictions, and as I said in my review, it’s an extremely well-designed game that’s focused on delivering instant dopamine hits that gamers have come to crave. Publisher Devolver Digital has announced that Ball x Pit has sold one million copies, which means developer Kenny Sun now has to make more Ball x Pit.

The team has confirmed the game will get three new content updates in 2026, all for free. The first comes in January with the Regal update, while the Shadow update arrives in April. We’ll have to wait until July for the Naturalist update. Each update will bring new balls, new evolutions, new buildings, new characters, and more. The new trailer released today is basically a series of teasers for these upcoming updates.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Ball x Pit, I highly recommend adding it to your list of games to play this holiday break. It blends modern roguelite mechanics with classic Breakout gameplay into one addictive game that only costs $14.99.
