As the Final Fantasy XIV collaboration kicks off in Monster Hunter Wilds today, with Omega Planetes and the ever-adorable Alpha invading The Forbidden Lands, Final Fantasy XIV players can now look forward to Guardian Arkveld on October 7, 2025. The hunt will be available to players who have completed the Dawntrail expansion and are level 100. Like the Rathalos collaboration with Monster Hunter World, Guardian Arkveld is not a limited time Duty, so you don’t have to worry about missing out.

The hunt kicks off in Tuliyollal with the optional quest The White Wanderer. Your Warrior of Light will be joined by a Felyne client and a Seikret steed to discover more about the dread Guardian Arkveld. Borrowing elements from the Monster Hunter series, you’ll get to grill meat in preparation for the fight, while stocking up on mega potions to hunt the White Wraith. The standard Duty, The Windward Wilds, will require an average item level of 725. Those who want to take on the Extreme version will need an average item level of 740.

As usual, rewards include gear that will be great for glamour, two mounts, minions, and housing decorations. Unsurprisingly, one of the mounts is the Seikret from Monster Hunter Wilds, while the other is a hilarious cart with two Felynes pushing it while your Warrior of Light takes a nice little nap.

Monster Hunter Wilds was our most anticipated game of the year, and while we thoroughly enjoyed it at launch, performance issues on PC kept us away after we got our monster-hunting fill. We’ll be making a return today for the Final Fantasy XIV collaboration, and we’re interested to see whether performance has improved. Meanwhile, the latest expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, Dawntrail, has felt a little stagnant, and we’re anxiously waiting to see where the long-running MMORPG goes from here.
