It’s been a good stretch for ARC Raiders. The game crossed more than 12 million copies sold not long ago, and now Embark Studios has some hardware to go with the sales figures.

The Swedish studio’s extraction shooter was the big winner at the 2026 Nordic Game Awards, which took place Thursday, May 28 in Malmö, Sweden during the NG26 Spring conference. ARC Raiders took home Nordic Game of the Year along with Best Audio and Best Technology, three of the seven awards handed out on the night.

Sweden had a strong showing well beyond Embark. Swedish studios accounted for five of the seven categories, with Hazelight Studios’ Split Fiction, which we reviewed last year, winning Best Game Design, and MoonHood’s clay-animated dark fantasy The Midnight Walk taking Best Art. Denmark picked up the other two, with LEGO Voyagers winning Best Fun for Everyone and Crinkle Cut Games’ Discounty earning Best Debut.

Here are the full winners of the 2026 Nordic Game Awards:

  • Nordic Game of the Year: ARC Raiders, by Embark Studios (Sweden)
  • Best Art: The Midnight Walk, by MoonHood (Sweden)
  • Best Game Design: Split Fiction, by Hazelight Studios (Sweden)
  • Best Technology: ARC Raiders, by Embark Studios (Sweden)
  • Best Audio: ARC Raiders, by Embark Studios (Sweden)
  • Best Fun for Everyone: LEGO Voyagers, by Light Brick Studio (Denmark)
  • Best Debut: Discounty, by Crinkle Cut Games (Denmark)

Now in its 18th year, the Nordic Game Awards is put on by Nordic Game and The Nordic Game Institute, with a jury made up of representatives from each of the Nordic producer associations. Danish actor Magnus Bruun hosted this year’s show.
